JAMMU: An IPS officer hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, Rakesh Balwal, has been promoted to the Super Time Scale (STS) of the Indian Police Service (IPS), equivalent to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG).
The Governor of Manipur has approved the promotion of three IPS officers of the 2012 batch, including Balwal, to the Super Time Scale.
Rakesh Balwal, a 2012-batch IPS officer of the Manipur cadre, is presently posted in Manipur. He earlier served as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar during his deputation to Jammu and Kashmir, where he was widely appreciated for his professional work and leadership.
