POONCH: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology & Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana, on Monday laid the foundation stone for the macadamisation of the Chajjala to Ramkund road in Mendhar, aimed at improving connectivity for residents of the area.
The project will be executed by the Public Works (R&B) Department under the Cities & Towns Programme at an estimated cost of ₹40 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana said the Government was committed to strengthening road connectivity, particularly in remote and far-flung areas. He said the macadamisation of the road would provide much-needed relief to local residents while improving connectivity and giving a boost to economic activity in the area.
The Minister directed the executing agency to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality in accordance with prescribed standards.
Senior officers of the PWD (R&B), district administration and a large number of local residents were present on the occasion.
