JAMMU: Martand Singh, Trustee of the Hari Tara Charitable Trust and Amar Mahal Museum, has hailed the success of the RAAHI: Hop Jammu Bus Service, describing it as a transformative initiative that has significantly improved tourist mobility and boosted visitor footfall at Jammu’s heritage and cultural landmarks.
The bus service, launched on July 1 by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, was introduced to facilitate convenient travel for Amarnath Yatris and tourists across Jammu city.
A scion of the erstwhile Dogra royal family, Martand Singh congratulated the District Administration Jammu, led by Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Minhas, IAS, and Jammu Smart City Limited under the leadership of Jammu Municipal Corporation Commissioner Devansh Yadav, IAS, for conceptualising and successfully implementing the initiative.
He said the service has made it easier for pilgrims and tourists to explore Jammu’s rich religious, historical and cultural attractions during their stay in the city, while also generating positive economic activity by supporting local businesses and strengthening the tourism ecosystem.
“RAAHI has made it easier for tourists and Amarnath Yatris to explore the rich cultural and historical heritage of Jammu during their stay in the city. It is a commendable initiative that has not only enhanced the visitor experience but has also emerged as a catalyst for local commerce and tourism,” Martand Singh said.
He also appreciated the coordinated efforts of the District Administration Jammu, Jammu Smart City Limited and the Jammu Municipal Corporation in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the service.
Highlighting its impact, Martand Singh said several major tourist attractions, including the Amar Mahal Museum, have witnessed nearly a two-fold increase in visitor footfall over the past two weeks, attributing the encouraging trend largely to the accessibility and convenience offered by the RAAHI Hop Jammu Bus Service.
Martand Singh also serves as Director of the Amar Singh Sports & Youth Initiative, J&K, and Trustee of the J&K Dharmarth Trust.
