JAMMU: Heritage School celebrated the 80th Independence Day with special assemblies across its Kindergarten, Primary and Senior Wings, reflecting the spirit of freedom, unity, responsibility and national pride.
The Gummy Bears World (Kindergarten Wing) marked the occasion with tricolour badge distribution, a prayer and patriotic song, followed by an energetic song-and-dance performance by the young learners. Teachers also presented a dance performance, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The celebration aimed at instilling among the children a sense of pride, love and respect for the nation.
The Primary Wing observed Independence Day through patriotic songs and enactments paying tribute to the sacrifices of freedom fighters and celebrating the pride of being Indian.
Headmistress Hemneet Kour spoke about the significance of Independence Day and urged students to cherish the values of liberty, responsibility and national pride. She also congratulated the students and teachers for their efforts.
The Senior Wing presented a thought-provoking assembly featuring a short enactment, Hindi poetry recitation and a semi-classical dance performance.
The enactment explored the changing meaning of freedom in the contemporary world, while the poetry and dance highlighted the legacy of India’s freedom struggle and reminded students that freedom also carries the responsibility to contribute towards national progress.
Addressing the assembly, Principal Akash Pradhan appreciated the students for their presentations and encouraged them to value their freedom and shoulder their responsibilities as citizens and future custodians of the nation.
The celebrations concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the school community with a renewed sense of gratitude for the country’s freedom and responsibility towards the nation.
