JAMMU: In view of heavy passenger rush and continued demand for better travel facilities, the Jammu Division of Northern Railway has decided to further extend the operating period of Special Reserved Train No. 04081/04082 running between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.
The special train, which has witnessed near 100 per cent occupancy during its previous runs, has been extended multiple times owing to its popularity among passengers. Keeping this demand in mind, the railway authorities have once again extended its services for four additional trips.
Train No. 04081 (New Delhi – Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra)
- Earlier operating period: December 27, 2025 to January 17, 2026
- Extended period: January 23 to January 26, 2026 (4 trips only)
Train No. 04082 (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra – New Delhi)
- Earlier operating period: December 28, 2025 to January 18, 2026
- Extended period: January 24 to January 27, 2026 (4 trips only)
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, Uchit Singhal, said that the decision to extend the train service was taken in view of its successful operations and high passenger demand.
“The special reserved train has maintained almost 100 per cent occupancy in its previous runs, proving to be an economical and convenient travel option for passengers. It has benefited not only passengers from Jammu and Kashmir but also those from intermediate stations such as Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana and Ambala Cantt,” he said.
He added that based on the positive response, the operating period of the train has been extended once again for four trips. Passengers have been advised to check the updated timetable on Dial 139 or through the NTES app before commencing their journey.
