LEH: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, today chaired a high-level security review meeting in Leh to assess the prevailing situation in the Union Territory.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, DGP Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, DIG Srinagar South P.K. Singh, Deputy Commissioner Leh, SSP Leh Sanjay Kumar, CO 79 Rajat Jain, CO 25, and other senior officials. They reported that the day remained peaceful across Ladakh and credited the citizens’ cooperation for the restoration of normalcy.
Commending the exemplary restraint and responsibility shown by residents during recent relaxations in restrictions, the Lt Governor reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to safeguarding citizens’ rights and aspirations for growth and harmony.
Gupta emphasised that the return of normalcy would be complemented by a renewed focus on development, including accelerated infrastructure projects, livelihood opportunities, and strengthening key sectors such as education, healthcare, renewable energy, and tourism. “Peace and development must go hand in hand for building a prosperous Ladakh,” he said.
The Lt Governor directed administration and security agencies to remain vigilant, responsive, and adopt a people-friendly approach in all their operations. He also stressed the importance of community engagement and trust-building, noting that Ladakh’s progress and harmony depend on collective responsibility.
He assured that every possible step would be taken to safeguard peace, security, and well-being for all residents of the Union Territory.
