JAMMU: Jodhamal Public School marked the significance of schooling in the lives of toddlers by organising Graduation Day, a gracious passing-out ceremony of Class UKG students of Jodhamal Juniors.
The Chief Guest for the function was Prasanna Ramaswamy G, Secretary to Government, Tribal Affairs Department, Government of Jammu and Kashmir. The Special Guest on the occasion was Sargun Shukla.
Little toddlers were excited to receive their passing-out certificates from pre-primary to Grade 1, dressed in black gowns and smart caps.
More than 100 prizes were distributed to winners of inter-school competitions and to those who performed exceptionally at the national level in various co-curricular activities. Special prizes were also awarded to children who created records in prestigious national and international record books.
The students felicitated included Aadya Malhotra, Veeransh Gupta, Reyom Dawar, Advaay Sharma, Ruhaan Gupta, Kiara Mahajan, Aarnika Singh, Aarvi Thakur, Maahin Gupta, Aadit Chopra, Aveer Mallick, Maadhav Gupta, Gobind Singh, Jiaansh Sharma, Avyan Abrol, Yessenia Kapoor, Kaashvi Gupta, Sanmay Sanchit Batta, Yuvean Talwar, Reyona Mahajan, Guntas Kour, Ranaviraj Singh, Yashina Hans and Vadanya Gupta.
A cultural bonanza presented by the students mesmerised the audience, beginning with a Flamenco–Kathak fusion, followed by captivating dance performances. The “Dance on Skates” by kindergarteners and an English play highlighting the dignity of labour and dream professions were among the highlights of the show. Each performance was appreciated by the audience.
The school administration appreciated the efforts of Headmistress Neetu Johri, CCA In-charge Deepali Puri, pre-primary teachers including Dolly Chandoke, Amita Charak, Anjali Gupta, Priyanka Verma, Gagandeep Kour, Priyanka Salgotra, Kritima Sharma, Gurjeet Kour, Ashi Gupta and Kiran Singh, as well as the Dance Department comprising Shruti Bakshi, Shivali Rai, Arti Mahajan and Aarushika, and the Art & Craft Department including Shweta Manga, Hemu Jaggi, Amanpreet Kour and Sonika Chalotra.
In his address, the Chief Guest motivated the students and appreciated the role of the school and parents in ensuring holistic education. He emphasised that such exposure is essential for building confidence and skills that go beyond classroom learning.
The graduation ceremony marked the culmination of the three-year kindergarten enrichment programme consisting of Nursery, LKG and UKG. All UKG students were awarded certificates on the occasion.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice Principal Amita Arora, who appreciated the efforts of all teachers for their tireless execution of the programme.
