JAMMU: Heritage School organised a workshop titled “Vulnerabilities of Children and the Role of Teachers in Today’s Scenario” for its teaching faculty on Tuesday with the aim of sensitising educators towards early identification of developmental and behavioural challenges among students.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Richa Sharma, Founder and Managing Director of Kaushalyam Early Intervention and Child Development Centre, Jammu, and was held in two sessions with enthusiastic participation from teachers representing Kindergarten to Class XII.
Drawing upon her extensive experience as an Early Intervention Specialist, Dr. Sharma shared valuable insights into recognising early signs of developmental and behavioural concerns in children. She highlighted the crucial role teachers play in early identification, creating inclusive classrooms and working in coordination with parents and specialists for the overall development of every child.
During the interactive sessions, Dr. Sharma discussed effective strategies for managing behavioural challenges with empathy, supporting students’ emotional well-being and building a safe, caring and supportive learning environment.
The workshop witnessed active participation from teachers, who shared classroom experiences, engaged in discussions and gained practical approaches to address diverse learning and behavioural needs while promoting the holistic well-being of students.
As a gesture of appreciation, Principal Akash Pradhan presented Dr. Richa Sharma with a sapling and expressed gratitude for her insightful and enriching session. He reaffirmed Heritage School’s commitment to empowering educators with the required knowledge, skills and sensitivity to support every child with compassion and understanding.
