BASOHLI: As part of ongoing activities under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the Government Degree College Basohli screened a documentary on “Life of drug Addicts in India.”
The documentary produced by -The Offbeat PRODUCTION- of Sachin Singh Gaur, a student of the College, explains the real life experiences of victims, the psychological grip of addiction, physical deterioration and the harsh realities of the recovery process. The film also portrays the long, non – linear journey of rehabilitation, demonstrating the challenges addicts face when trying to integrate with society.
The event was organized under the patronage of Principal Prof. Raj Kiran Sharma. The programme was coordinated by Dr Ravinder Kour, Convenor, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan College Committee.
Prof. Mega Sharma, member of NMBA Committee elaborated on addiction with its implications on physical and mental health of individual. The programme was attended by nearly 68 students.
Other faculty members present were Dr. Neha Bandral (HOD Economics), Dr. Bhupinder Kour, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Dr. Tawseef Ahmad and Dr. Ravi Kumar.
