JAMMU: Four personnel of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), including an Assistant Commandant, were killed in a fratricide incident at a power project in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, officials said.
The personnel were deployed to guard the Sewa power project at Mashka village in Basohli, near the Jammu and Kashmir-Himachal Pradesh border.
According to officials, an argument broke out between two personnel over an issue, following which one of them allegedly opened fire, resulting in the deaths of four CISF personnel.
Senior officers have rushed to the spot and further details regarding the circumstances of the incident are awaited.
Authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances leading to the firing and establish the sequence of events.
