JAMMU: The valedictory ceremony of a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Peace Education was held at PSPS Government College for Women.
The programme was organised by the Office of the Dean Academic Affairs, Cluster University of Jammu, in collaboration with The Prem Rawat Foundation, under the guidance of Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) K. S. Chandrasekar.
The 20-hour structured programme focused on promoting mental well-being, stress management and the creation of peaceful academic environments. Faculty members from constituent colleges and schools of the university participated in reflective and interactive sessions aimed at fostering self-awareness, dignity, emotional balance and human understanding.
The FDP was coordinated by Dr. Shabila Wani, Head of the Department of Psychology, and facilitated by Poonam Sherawat from The Prem Rawat Foundation along with her team. A virtual session was also conducted by Catherine, Global Facilitator and Training Director from PRF New Zealand, who interacted with participants and sought feedback on key learnings from the programme.
Dr. Twinkle Suri, Dean Academic Affairs, emphasised that peace education lays the foundation for meaningful pedagogy and emotionally resilient teachers. Dr. Kulvinder Kour, Principal of the host college, highlighted the importance of peace in fostering harmonious learning environments.
The valedictory function was also attended by Dr. Satinder Kour, Dean Research Studies, and featured the presentation of the FDP report and distribution of certificates. The programme concluded with a collective commitment to integrating peace and well-being into academic practices across the university.
