POONCH: A fire broke out in the building of District Hospital Poonch, triggering a swift response from Fire and Emergency Services personnel and hospital staff, who brought the blaze under control before it could cause any major damage.
According to Medical Superintendent Dr Mohammad Shafiq, the cause of the fire was not immediately known. Some windows in the rear portion of the hospital building were gutted in the incident.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel, assisted by hospital staff, acted promptly to douse the flames and prevent the situation from escalating into a major mishap.
Police have initiated further investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.
