JAMMU: FICCI FLO Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh on Saturday announced Marathon 4.0, scheduled to be held on October 4, 2026, with the event aimed at supporting the establishment of Jammu’s first exclusive Women’s Skilling Centre.
The marathon will start and finish at Four A Resort and follow the scenic Four A Resort–Parmandal–Four A Resort circuit. Organised in collaboration with Jammu Tourism, the event will feature 21-km Half Marathon, 10-km, 5-km and 3-km categories. Manjal Auto is the Prime Platinum Sponsor.
With more than 600 registrations already received, the event has drawn participation from runners across the region and is expected to bring together the running community, families, corporates and citizens.
Speaking at a press conference, Varsha Bansal, Chairperson, FICCI FLO JKL, said Marathon 4.0 was designed not merely as a sporting event but as an initiative focused on creating opportunities for women to acquire skills and build sustainable livelihoods.
“Marathon 4.0 is a marathon with a heart. It is not just about running; it is about creating opportunities for women to learn, become skilled and build sustainable livelihoods. Every step taken on this route will contribute to a larger purpose of women’s empowerment,” Bansal said.
She said the route had been selected in collaboration with Jammu Tourism to showcase and promote the Four A Resort–Parmandal circuit, while complementing efforts to develop and promote new tourism circuits in the region.
Kanupriya Garg, Race Director, said runner-focused arrangements would include multiple hydration points, medical and safety support, route management and other measures to ensure the wellbeing of participants. She said the distinctive route would also give runners an opportunity to experience Jammu beyond conventional city routes.
The press conference was attended by Varuna Anand, National Initiative Head–Textiles & Handicrafts; Ruchika Gupta, Past Chairperson; Rupika Sahai, Senior Vice Chairperson; Sona Mehta, Vice Chairperson; and Shipra Agarwal, Treasurer, besides Bansal and Garg.
Marathon 4.0 is expected to bring together fitness, tourism and social impact, with proceeds and participation supporting the larger objective of establishing an exclusive skilling facility for women in Jammu.
