JAMMU: FICCI FLO Jammu & Kashmir & Ladakh Chapter, in collaboration with Jammu & Kashmir Police, formally handed over a cheque of ₹5,00,000 to the J&K Police Drug De-Addiction & Rehabilitation and Mental Health Care Centre, Channi Himmat, fulfilling the pledge made during the Run4Health Half Marathon 3.0.
The marathon was organized to raise awareness on drug abuse and encourage community responsibility in eradicating the menace. The contribution will support rehabilitation services, counselling, and mental health care of individuals battling substance abuse.
The cheque handover ceremony was attended by senior police officials including Shiv Kumar Sharma (IPS, DIG Jammu), Joginder Singh (JKPS, SSP Jammu), Ajay Sharma (JKPS, SP South), and Irshad Rather (JKPS, SP Headquarters), along with the FLO JKL leadership team led by Chairperson Aarti Chowdhary.
The FLO core team—Varuna Anand (Past Chairperson), Ruchika Gupta (Immediate Past Chair), Varsha Bansal & Rupika Sahay (Sr. Vice Chairpersons), Sona Mehta (Treasurer), Kanupriya Garg (Event Director), Shipra Aggarwal (Joint Treasurer), Nandita Bajaj (Secretary), and Pooja Dewan (Joint Secretary)—played a key role in organizing the half marathon and ensuring its impact.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairperson Aarti Chowdhary said:
“Our message during the Half Marathon was simple but powerful — Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life. Contributing to the noble work of J&K Police in rehabilitating lives fills us with pride. This partnership reflects our commitment to a healthier, stronger society.”
