JAMMU: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office Jammu, concluded its Hindi Fortnight 2026 with a ceremony held on Tuesday, marking the end of the fortnight-long programme organised from September 14 to 29.
Shri Mumtaz Ahmad, General Manager, BSNL, Jammu & Kashmir, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. Shri Satya Prakash, Assistant Provident Fund Commissioner (APFC), and Shri Bal Krishna, Enforcement Officer, were also present. Ahmad highlighted the importance of Hindi and encouraged officials and employees to increase its use in official work.
Addressing the gathering, Satya Prakash said Hindi was not only a medium of communication but also an important tool for making official work simpler, easier and more effective. He encouraged employees to use Hindi in their day-to-day official work and appreciated their participation in the various competitions organised during the fortnight.
A total of six competitions were organised during Hindi Fortnight to generate greater interest and awareness about Hindi among officers and employees. Twenty-seven prizes and certificates were presented to the winners at the closing ceremony.
Among those honoured were Pritpal Singh, Assistant Section Officer; Nipun Gupta, Enforcement Officer; Shamsher Singh, Senior Social Security Assistant; and Gaurav Slathia, Social Security Assistant, along with other officials and employees.
The competitions and stage proceedings were coordinated by Ashish Kumar Sharma, Junior Translation Officer, whose role helped ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants, winners, officers and employees associated with the event. EPFO said the Hindi Fortnight initiative was aimed at promoting the use of Rajbhasha Hindi in official work and encouraging greater interest and enthusiasm for the language among employees.
