SHOPIAN: Drugs Control Department Shopian carried out an enforcement drive across multiple areas in District Shopian, including Nagisharan, Hajipora, Lundoora, Hermain, Alamganj, DK Pora, Imam Sahib and Adkher under the supervision of the Assistant Drugs Controller, Shopian.
During the inspections, officials thoroughly verified compliance with the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940, scrutinizing records for scheduled formulations, CCTV operation, computerized billing and overall licensing conditions.
Five medical shops were closed on the spot for violations observed during inspection.
Additionally, licensees were strictly instructed to maintain proper purchase and sales documentation and to dispense habit-forming medicines exclusively against valid prescriptions from Registered Medical Practitioners to prevent drug diversion and misuse.
