JAMMU: Students of Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, have brought laurels to the institution by winning prizes in Amar Ujala’s ‘Apna Akhbar Khud Banao’ initiative, organised during the summer vacation to promote creativity, writing skills and an understanding of newspaper production among young learners.
Harmanjeet Kour and Harnoor Dogra of Class VII, along with Suranshi Jamwal and Kiika Sangral of Class IX, secured consolation prizes and school-level recognition for their creative efforts.
As part of the initiative, students were encouraged to prepare their own newspapers using handwritten content, carefully selected images and imaginative layouts. The activity provided them with an opportunity to explore journalistic expression, develop communication skills and present their ideas in an engaging format.
The students were mentored by Shivani Jamwal and Sakshi Sasan of the school’s Journalism Club. Their achievement was appreciated by the school management, which highlighted the importance of experiential learning and opportunities that allow students to discover their talents beyond the classroom.
Rohini Aima, Principal-cum-Vice-Chairperson of Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu, congratulated the students and encouraged them to continue pursuing excellence with confidence, curiosity and enthusiasm. She said every achievement, irrespective of its scale, serves as a stepping stone towards greater success and inspires learners to explore new possibilities.
