SRINAGAR: The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Srinagar organized a cleanliness drive at Astanmarg Harwan as part of its ongoing efforts to promote cleanliness, environmental responsibility and civic awareness among the public.
The cleanliness drive was carried out under the guidance of Haq Nawaz Zargar, Principal District & Sessions Judge,(Chairman DLSA), Srinagar, who was also present on the occasion. The Secretary, DLSA Srinagar, along with the staff, actively participated in the programme.
The Paralegal Volunteers (PLVs) of DLSA Srinagar enthusiastically took part in the cleanliness drive and cleaned the surrounding areas of Astanmarg. During the programme, the PLVs also interacted with the local residents and sensitized them about the importance of maintaining cleanliness and adopting responsible waste-disposal practices.
The public was particularly urged not to litter or throw waste in open spaces and to use designated places for disposal of garbage. The participants highlighted that keeping public places clean is a shared responsibility and requires active cooperation from every citizen.
The Chairman DLSA Srinagar appreciated the efforts of the PLVs, staff and all participants and emphasized that such initiatives help in creating a cleaner, healthier and more beautiful environment while also strengthening the sense of civic responsibility among the community.
The programme concluded with an appeal to the public to make cleanliness a daily habit and contribute towards making Astanmarg and its surroundings clean, green and beautiful.
