KATHUA: The Department of Social Welfare Kathua today organized a programme for distribution of motorized tricycles among the specially-abled persons here at the DC Office Complex.
Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma handed over the keys of retrofitted motorized tricycles to four eligible beneficiaries, aimed at enhancing their mobility and independence.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration is committed to empowering specially-abled persons by providing them with better accessibility and support facilities. He urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the provided assistance to lead a more independent and dignified life.
CPO Kathua Ranjit Thakur, District Social Welfare Officer, Varun Choudhury, along with Tehsil Social Welfare Officers (TSWO) of Kathua, Billawar and Hiranagar were also present during the event.
