Srinagar: Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), GP Singh, on Tuesday reaffirmed that the CRPF stands firmly with the people of Kashmir in every situation.
The DG was speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the third edition of the Yashasvini High-Altitude CRPF Bike Expedition 2025, held at the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
Paying tribute to the martyrs of the 2001 Parliament attack, DG Singh said:
“I salute the martyrs and those honoured with the Ashoka Chakra, the nation’s highest gallantry award.”
He further commended the women bikers taking part in the expedition:
“I extend my greetings to all of you moving forward with courage. You are the torch-bearers of CRPF and deserve special appreciation and gratitude.”
About the Expedition
- A team of CRPF women riders will cover nearly 1,400 km in seven days, travelling from Lal Chowk to Pangong Tso and back.
- The journey will pass through Khardung La at altitudes of almost 18,000 ft, with riders braving sub-zero temperatures and extreme conditions.
- Officers including DIG Balav Sharma, Brigadier SP Rai, and DK Singh are leading the expedition.
DG Singh described the mission as symbolic of CRPF’s six-decade-long contribution to India’s internal security.
“Flagging off this expedition from Kashmir’s historic Lal Chowk fills me with immense happiness, pride, and honour,” he said.
Expressing gratitude to locals, he added:
“Your encouragement inspires us and strengthens our resolve to serve and protect.”

The Yashasvini High-Altitude CRPF Bike Expedition is part of CRPF’s exclusive Mahila Bike Expedition series, designed to instill pride and test both physical and mental endurance.
- First edition (March 2023): Delhi to Jagdalpur.
- Second edition (September 2023): Srinagar–Shillong–Kanyakumari to Kevadia.
- Third edition (September 2025): Lal Chowk, Srinagar to Pangong Tso and back.
