SRINAGAR: The Special Crime Wing (SCW), Kashmir of Crime Branch J&K on Friday conducted a search at a residential premises in Safakadal, Srinagar, in connection with an investigation into an alleged fraudulent appointment in the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department.
Officials said the search was carried out in connection with FIR No. 10/2026, registered under Sections 420, 468 and 471 of the RPC, in compliance with a search warrant issued by the Court of Special Mobile Magistrate (PT&E), Srinagar.
The case pertains to allegations that an appointment in the J&K Police was obtained by submitting forged documents relating to date of birth and educational qualifications.
As part of the ongoing investigation, the Special Crime Wing searched the residential premises of SG Ct. Manzoor Ahmad Najar at Safakadal.
Crime Branch officials said the search was conducted in accordance with due process of law and further details would be shared as the investigation progresses.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch advised the general public to remain vigilant against fraudsters and report such incidents directly to the SSP, Special Crime Wing Kashmir.
