NEW DELHI: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday visited SATTE 2026 at the Yashobhoomi Convention Centre in Dwarka, New Delhi, and reiterated his government’s commitment to strengthening Jammu and Kashmir as the country’s leading all-season tourist destination.
At the event, he toured the Jammu & Kashmir Pavilion in Hall-1A, accompanied by Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, MLAs Pirzada Farooq Ahmad Shah, Tanvir Sadiq and Altaf Ahmad Wani, along with Director Tourism Jammu Vikas Gupta. The Chief Minister interacted with tourism stakeholders, leading travel and tour operators, and members of the media, highlighting the region’s evolving tourism landscape.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, he held detailed discussions with industry representatives, reaffirming the government’s resolve to upgrade tourism infrastructure, enhance connectivity and promote sustainable tourism across all regions of J&K.
Emphasising the Union Territory’s diverse tourism offerings, he said Jammu & Kashmir today presents a broad portfolio — from adventure and heritage tourism to pilgrimage circuits and world-class MICE opportunities. He invited travellers and investors to explore an open and vibrant J&K, ready to welcome visitors with renewed confidence.
Jammu & Kashmir’s participation at SATTE 2026 features nearly 70 tourism stakeholders as co-exhibitors, showcasing destinations, services and promotional material highlighting the region’s tourism potential. Traditional folk performances at the pavilion added cultural vibrancy and drew significant visitor interest.
Tourism Department officials will continue engaging with travel trade representatives during the exhibition to further strengthen promotion efforts and boost tourist footfall in the region.
