KISHTWAR: A suspected Pakistani terrorist was killed on Wednesday evening during an ongoing counter-terror operation in the snow-bound higher reaches of Kishtwar district in Jammu and Kashmir, officials said. JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Tuesday said that the government has initiated multiple measures to improve cash flow, credit access and economic resilience of MSMEs, artisans, weavers and farmers in Jammu and Kashmir. Replying to a question raised by MLA Waheed-ur-Rehman Parra, he highlighted initiatives including JKMSME Health Clinic, RAMP programme, incentives under Industrial Policy 2021–30, and targeted schemes for artisans and weavers. He added that farmers are being supported through interest subvention, crop insurance and infrastructure funding under AIF and AHIDF.
JAMMU: Education Minister Sakeena Itoo on Tuesday said that the government is prioritizing enrolment enhancement, academic strengthening and optimal utilisation of infrastructure in Government Degree Colleges across J&K. JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Tuesday said that Rs 2 crore is being spent on the permanent restoration of Larnoo Bridge in Kokernag constituency of Anantnag district. He said the bridge suffered partial damage to abutments and approach walls during August–September 2025 floods, and restoration works are being carried out by the R&B Department.
JAMMU: Minister for Youth Services and Sports Satish Sharma on Tuesday said that Rs 71.183 lakh has been released during 2025–26 for upgradation of sports infrastructure in Chanapora constituency. Replying to a question raised by MLA Mushtaq Guroo, the Minister said that works include development of volleyball courts, fencing and construction of a ZPEO office at Nowgam. He added that DPRs for additional sports projects have been prepared and will be taken up shortly.
