JAMMU: A 32-year-old man died after he allegedly fell unconscious at a border police post in R S Pura sector near here early Wednesday, official sources said. The deceased, Uttam Chand, a resident of Rakh village, was called to the Chakroi police post following a complaint filed by a woman neighbour over a property dispute, the sources said quoting the preliminary information. NEW DELHI: A PG operator has been arrested in connection with the collapse of a five-storey building in Delhi’s Satya Niketan that left seven people dead, as police are probing the role of the leaseholders of the building on lease and the construction and repair work carried out there, sources said on Wednesday. Sudhanshu, one of the two business partners running the ‘Hostel Daze’ PG, was arrested during the investigation and is being questioned by police, sources said. BENGALURU: The Enforcement Directorate on Wednesday raided premises linked to Karnataka PWD minister Satish Jarkiholi, his MP daughter Priyanka Jarkiholi and some others as part of an investigation, officials said. They said about 18 premises are being searched, including those of the 64-year-old minister located in the Dollars Colony area of the city. The premises of his daughter Priyanka Jarkiholi, an MP from the Chikkodi Lok Sabha seat, are also being covered, the officials said. Further details are awaited.
