BANDIPORA: Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Bandipora, Nazir Ahmad Mir, today chaired a meeting in his office chamber to review the progress and implementation of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) – PRAGATI in the district.
The ADDC, who has been designated as the Nodal Officer for NAPS in District Bandipora, took a detailed review of the progress made under the scheme and held discussions with the concerned officers regarding the measures required for its effective implementation.
During the meeting, the ADDC emphasized the importance of strengthened coordination among all concerned departments, institutions and stakeholders for ensuring wider coverage of the scheme and creating maximum apprenticeship opportunities for the youth of the district.
The ADDC directed the concerned officers to ensure that the targets assigned under NAPS are achieved within the stipulated timelines and, preferably, well before the prescribed deadlines. He called for regular monitoring of progress and timely follow-up at every level so that the assigned targets are accomplished in a result-oriented and time-bound manner.
He further stressed upon the officers to identify and facilitate suitable apprenticeship opportunities and ensure active participation of eligible establishments and institutions, with the objective of providing youth with practical skills, workplace exposure and better employment prospects.
The ADDC underscored that effective implementation of NAPS would play an important role in bridging the gap between skill development and employment and called upon all stakeholders to work with commitment and a coordinated approach for realizing the objectives of the scheme in the district.
