KUPWARA: In order to review the progress achieved through the implementation of the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS-2) in district Kupwara, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Ghulam Rasool, today chaired a meeting of concerned officers at the Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex, Kupwara.
During the meeting, a detailed discussion was held on various aspects concerning the effective implementation of NAPS-2 in the district.
The ADDC took a comprehensive review of the progress made by different departments and institutions and stressed the need for coordinated and timely action to achieve the assigned targets.
The meeting discussed, among other issues, the identification of establishments and their registration on the NAPS Portal; registration of apprentices/candidates on the portal; uploading of actual Apprenticeship Contract documents; completion of e-KYC of all registered apprentices; and review of the progress achieved by each department/institution.
The ADDC also reviewed the bottlenecks, if any, being faced by the concerned departments in the implementation process and called for their timely resolution. He emphasized the importance of close monitoring and inter-departmental coordination to ensure that the benefits of the apprenticeship programme reach eligible candidates in the district.
He directed the concerned officers to formulate and adhere to a time-bound action plan for completion of the assigned targets and ensure that all pending activities, including registration, documentation and e-KYC, are completed within the stipulated timelines.
The ADDC underscored that effective implementation of NAPS-2 would provide valuable apprenticeship opportunities to local youth while strengthening their employability and industry-oriented skills.
The meeting was attended by ADC Handwara, Principals of GDCs, SDM Karnah, SE R&B, ACD and other concerned officers.
