DODA: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Doda Anil Kumar Thakur today chaired a comprehensive review meeting to assess the physical and financial progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district.
The meeting reviewed the status of ongoing and completed water supply schemes in Doda, Thathri and Gandoh divisions, with special focus on expenditure against allocated funds, scheme-wise targets, execution of works, Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTCs), Har Ghar Jal (HGJ) certification and Rural Piped Water Supply Scheme (RPWSS) registrations. The status of schemes with 75 to 99 percent physical progress was also reviewed, with directions to expedite their completion.
Detailed discussions were held on Rapid Sand Filtration Plants and Slow Sand Filtration Plants, including the progress and execution of related works.
The meeting also reviewed the status of water quality testing and monitoring, functionality of completed schemes, creation of Sujal schemes, JJM lift water supply schemes and water supply works under DA-JGUA.
The progress of FHTCs and Har Ghar Jal certification across the 3 divisions was examined, along with the status of ongoing works and activities being executed under various JJM components.
Officers were directed to regularly inspect works, update scheme data, ensure proper documentation and address gaps between reported progress and ground-level execution.
The meeting also stressed on ensuring reliable water supply to educational, health and social welfare institutions. The Chief Education Officer was directed to ensure functional water connections and adequate water supply in all schools, while the Chief Medical Officer was asked to ensure proper water availability at all health centres. The District Social Welfare Officer was directed to ensure adequate water supply in institutions functioning under the Social Welfare Department.
The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Doda, CPO Doda, XEN PWD (R&B), CMO Doda, CEO Doda, ACP Doda, District Social Welfare Officer, AEEs, JEEs and other concerned officers and officials.
