JAMMU: Heritage School organised The Continuum Ceremony for students of Class V, marking their formal progression from the Primary Wing to the Middle Wing. Conceived not as a farewell but as a celebration of continuity, the ceremony reflected the institution’s belief that education is an uninterrupted journey of growth, character formation and purposeful advancement.
The programme commenced with the gracious presence of Chairman Sunil Gupta, along with the Principal, Vice Principal, Headmistress and Coordinators. The occasion was further enriched by Special Guest Mohit Roger, a young independent artist, singer and entrepreneur whose creative journey has resonated widely with the youth.
As a symbolic gesture of respect and sustainable growth, saplings were presented to the dignitaries, signifying renewal and flourishing beginnings. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp invoked the timeless belief that knowledge is a guiding light to be carried forward with dignity and perseverance.
The cultural segment celebrated India’s rich artistic heritage and the vibrant spirit of the Primary Wing. The school choir, Minstrels of Melody, presented soulful medleys that lent depth and solemnity to the occasion. A Maharashtrian folk-inspired Durga Dance by students of Classes IV and V highlighted strength and resilience. The celebration continued with a lively Bihu dance by Class II and a graceful Rajasthani dance by Class IV, symbolising unity and cultural pride.
A solemn highlight of the ceremony was the administration of vows. Junior Council Members of Class V stepped forward to take the pledge on behalf of their batch, reaffirming their commitment to discipline, integrity, perseverance and compassion. The moment underscored the school’s emphasis on character as the cornerstone of education.
The ceremony also recognised excellence and collective achievement. The Best Class Awards were conferred upon Class 1B and Class 2D for consistent performance, enthusiastic participation and commendable conduct. The prestigious Best House Trophy was awarded to Tradition House (Yellow House) in recognition of sustained excellence, teamwork and leadership throughout the session.
The programme culminated in a vibrant musical presentation by Mohit Roger, whose performance connected meaningfully with the young audience. As a token of appreciation, a memento was presented to him by the Principal in recognition of his inspiring presence.
The event concluded with an encouraging address by the Principal, urging students to embrace greater responsibilities with confidence and humility. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by the Coordinator of Classes III–V.
The Continuum Ceremony stood as a dignified affirmation of Heritage School’s commitment to nurturing confident learners rooted in values. As the Class V students ascend to the Middle Wing, they do so not as departing learners, but as evolving individuals carrying forward a legacy of excellence, integrity and purpose.
