RAMBAN: The District Administration Ramban, spearheaded by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, today organized a grand celebration, “Samman Samaroh,” under the Sampoornata Abhiyan at Aspirational Block Khari .
A vibrant 7-Day Aakansha Haat (Mela) was also inaugurated at the Community Hall, T Chowk Ramban.
The functions were graced by Chairperson District Development Council (DDC) Dr. Shamshad Shan, Member Legislative Assembly Banihal Sajjad Shaheen, and DDC Councillors. Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak, Chief Planning Officer Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Mohammad Ashfaq, Tehsildar, BDOs, along with all district, sectoral officers and frontline workers also attended the programme.
As part of the celebrations, the District Administration felicitated officers and officials for their outstanding contributions towards the saturation of key indicators under the Aspirational Block Programme. The awards were given in recognition of their efforts in the thematic areas of Health, Nutrition, Agriculture, and Social Development during the Sampoornata Abhiyan held between July and September 2024.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC Chairperson congratulated the District Administration for achieving the Silver Medal at the national level under the Sampoornata Abhiyan as declared by the NITI Aayog. She also highlighted the significant role played by field workers in this achievement.
The MLA Banihal lauded the efforts of the District Administration and the staff of all line departments for saturating all indicators fixed by NITI Aayog. He further thanked the administration for selecting Block Khari under the Aspirational Block Programme, which has positively impacted the local population.
The Deputy Commissioner informed the gathering that District Ramban had achieved the Silver Medal for Aspirational Block Khari and motivated departments and stakeholders to work on mission mode to achieve even greater excellence in the future.
The celebration at Khari featured various attractions including selfie points and departmental stalls showcasing government schemes and services.
During the Aakansha Haat (Mela), multiple departments including Horticulture, Agriculture, Health, Cooperatives, Fisheries, DIC, NRLM, Handloom, Handicraft, Social Forestry, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and agro-producers set up stalls for the sale and indigenous promotion of their products. The Mela also featured a variety of cultural and awareness activities, adding vibrancy to the week-long event.
