HYDERABAD: Jammu and Kashmir Tourism has bagged the Eco-Tourism Hotspot Award at the ongoing India International Tourism Mart (IITM) in Hyderabad, recognizing its sustainable tourism initiatives and eco-friendly development across the Union Territory.
The three-day tourism festival, inaugurated on December 04, 2025, is hosting participation from several states and Union Territories along with international delegations from Malaysia, Nepal, Botswana and other countries, making it a major platform for tourism promotion and collaboration.
The award reflects J&K Tourism’s growing emphasis on eco-tourism, conservation-driven tourism development, and its recent series of promotional campaigns across travel circuits in the country. The J&K Tourism stall drew significant footfall and interest from visitors, travel trade bodies and industry professionals, particularly for products related to adventure tourism, MICE tourism and destination weddings.
The J&K delegation at IITM comprised Kaisar Ahmad Bhawani (CEO, Kishtwar Development Authority), Ahsanul Haq Chishti (CEO, Wullar–Manasbal Development Authority), Riyaz Ahmad (General Manager, JKTDC), Arif Ahmad Lone (Assistant Director, Tourism Jammu), Sajid Kirmani (Assistant Tourist Officer) along with multiple private travel operators from Jammu and Kashmir.
On the sidelines of the event, the delegation held extensive B2B interactions and promotional meetings with travel associations and industry groups including the Tour Operators Association of Telangana, FTCCI, UFTC, SKAL International, and representatives of leading travel companies. The discussions focused on collaborative strategies for boosting tourist inflow and strengthening tourism trade linkages through a more synchronized and cohesive approach between J&K stakeholders and their national counterparts.
