UDHAMPUR: The No. 1 Jammu & Kashmir Air Squadron NCC achieved a significant milestone with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art Flying Simulator at Udhampur on Tuesday.
The facility was formally inaugurated by Air Vice Marshal Vikas Sharma VM, Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Headquarters JK&L, marking a major leap towards advanced aviation training for NCC Air Wing cadets in the region.
Speaking at the ceremony, the AOC appreciated the squadron’s achievements and underlined the importance of incorporating modern training technologies for future aviators.
“This advanced flying simulator will provide cadets with practical experience in a safe and realistic environment, helping them build aviation skills and inspiring them to pursue careers in the Indian Air Force and civil aviation,” he said.
The newly installed simulator will offer training in aircraft handling, instrument flying, navigation, and emergency procedures, significantly enhancing the quality of training and boosting confidence among young aviation enthusiasts.
Wing Commander Nitin Yadav, Commanding Officer of 1 J&K Air Squadron NCC, expressed gratitude to HQ DGNCC and NCC Directorate JK&L for their support in timely procurement and installation of the simulator.
“This technology-driven facility aligns with NCC’s objective of providing structured training and will greatly strengthen our capacity to groom cadets in aeromodelling, flying, and aviation fundamentals,” he stated.
The event witnessed attendance of senior IAF officers, NCC officials, instructors, cadets and invited guests. Live demonstrations were conducted, highlighting the simulator’s immersive features and training modules.
With the addition of this modern facility, the J&K Air Squadron NCC reinforces its commitment to producing disciplined, skilled and future-ready leaders for the nation.
