JAMMU: The Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB) has announced 600 vacancies for the post of Accounts Assistant in the Finance Department under the UT cadre, marking one of the largest recruitment drives in the department in recent years.
According to the recruitment notification, online applications will open on December 8, 2025, and candidates will be able to submit their forms until January 6, 2026. The posts carry category-wise reservations, including 240 for Open Merit, 48 for Scheduled Castes, 60 each for ST1 and ST2, 48 for OBC, 24 for ALC/IB, 60 for RBA, and 60 for EWS candidates.
Applicants must have a graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university, with a minimum of 50% marks for the open merit category and 45% for reserved categories. Those holding a postgraduate degree with at least 50% marks or a PhD are also eligible to apply.
The JKSSB clarified that the selection process will be strictly merit-based, with candidates shortlisted solely on their performance in a written or OMR-based examination.
