NEW DELHI: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) on Friday reported its highest-ever quarterly consolidated gross revenue of ₹3,62,268 crore for the July–September quarter of the financial year 2026–27, registering a year-on-year increase of 27.8 per cent.
The company’s consolidated profit after tax, including its share of profits from associates and joint ventures, rose 33.8 per cent to a record ₹29,550 crore, compared with ₹22,092 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
RIL’s consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 23.9 per cent to ₹62,409 crore, against ₹50,367 crore a year earlier. However, its EBITDA margin moderated to 17.2 per cent from 17.8 per cent.
The company attributed its strong performance primarily to a sharp recovery in its oil-to-chemicals (O2C) business and continued growth in digital services, which helped offset relatively subdued performance in retail.
RIL’s O2C business delivered its strongest-ever quarterly performance, with EBITDA rising 67.9 per cent year-on-year to ₹25,203 crore. Revenue from the segment increased 44.2 per cent to ₹2,31,601 crore.
The growth was supported by stronger transportation fuel refining margins, improved petrochemical margins and supply disruptions in global markets.
Reliance’s digital services business, led by Jio Platforms, continued to record growth. Jio Platforms reported revenue of ₹47,485 crore, up 11.3 per cent year-on-year, while EBITDA rose 16.6 per cent to ₹21,879 crore.
Its total customer base reached 542.4 million by the end of September, including 300 million 5G subscribers. Average revenue per user increased to ₹218.8 per month from ₹211.4 a year earlier.
The performance came shortly after Jio Platforms completed its ₹30,188-crore initial public offering on October 28, which Reliance described as India’s largest IPO to date.
Reliance Retail Ventures recorded a 6.4 per cent increase in gross revenue to ₹91,716 crore. However, its EBITDA before a one-time impairment charge declined 8.6 per cent to ₹6,228 crore.
The company attributed the pressure to investments in digital commerce, higher input costs and the shift of major festivals to the third quarter.
For the first half of FY27, Reliance Industries reported consolidated gross revenue of ₹7,02,525 crore and profit after tax, including its share of earnings from associates and joint ventures, of ₹52,746 crore.
Capital expenditure during the September quarter stood at ₹38,153 crore, while net debt declined to ₹1,17,140 crore as of September 30, compared with ₹1,22,914 crore at the end of the preceding quarter.
The latest results underline Reliance Industries’ strong quarterly performance, driven by its energy and digital businesses, even as its retail operations faced margin pressures amid continued investment and changing market conditions.
