JAMMU: Five student delegates from KC Public School participated in the 58th Round Square International Conference 2026 held at Barker College, Sydney, Australia, bringing together around 1,200 students from 153 schools across 30 countries.
Held from September 28 to October 3, the conference was themed “Vision of the Future from an Ancient Land” and provided students with opportunities for cultural exchange, leadership development, collaborative activities, service initiatives and discussions on diverse global perspectives.
The conference opened with Australia Fair, featuring an Australian Stockman presentation and the Great Barker Race, with activities designed to promote teamwork and leadership.
The second day featured the official opening ceremony, International Bingo, pin swapping and mural painting, followed by keynote addresses by Benson Saulo, Sir Peter Cosgrove and Lisa Sthalekar. Students also participated in Baraza group discussions focused on resilience, adaptability, communication and leadership.
On September 30, delegates took part in “An Adventure Across the City of Sydney”, navigating the city by train, ferry and light rail. They visited prominent locations including The Rocks, Circular Quay, Barangaroo, Darling Square, Chinatown, Sydney Harbour and the Opera House.
The fourth day focused on Service and Environment, with students participating in a Quarry Park Walk and bush regeneration activities, including tree plantation at Hornsby Park Quarry.
The conference concluded with a keynote presentation by Samantha Gash, followed by a closing ceremony, traditional Australian-style BBQ dinner and bush dance. The programme celebrated the Round Square ideals of Internationalism, Democracy, Environmentalism, Adventure, Leadership and Service.
KC Public School was represented by student delegates Aseemta Gupta, Mahira Mahajan, Medhavi Arora, Samrat Singh and Garv Sharma. Chairman of KC Educational Society Raju Chowdhary, Managing Director Arti Chowdhary and Round Square Coordinator Manoj Kapoor were also associated with the delegation.
