JAMMU: BJP National General Secretary (Organisation) B.L. Santhosh on Saturday said organisational responsibilities may change with time, but the basic duties, values and commitment of a dedicated party worker remain unchanged.
Addressing a Samman Samaroh at the BJP headquarters, Santhosh said the organisation’s objectives are larger than any individual and urged party workers to continuously strengthen their own capabilities while contributing to the growth of the organisation.
The programme was organised to honour Tarun Chugh for nearly six years of service as J&K BJP Prabhari and Ashok Koul for 14 years of service as J&K BJP General Secretary (Organisation).
Chugh has now been appointed National Office Prabhari, Rajya Sabha MP and Gujarat Prabhari, while Koul has returned to the core organisation of the RSS.
Santhosh said organisational responsibilities provide individuals with opportunities to develop experience, personality and the ability to guide others. Appreciating Koul’s long service as an RSS Pracharak and J&K BJP Sangathan Mantri, he said his return to the parent organisation reflected the larger organisational purpose.
“Responsibilities may change, but the basic duties do not,” Santhosh said, urging workers not to become attached to individuals or positions.
J&K BJP president Sat Sharma also appreciated the contributions of Chugh and Koul, saying their organisational work had strengthened the party across Jammu and Kashmir.
In his address, Chugh recalled the BJP’s struggles on nationalist and social issues in Jammu and Kashmir and said party workers had made sacrifices during difficult periods.
He said the Modi government had placed J&K on a development-oriented path and described Koul as a key organisational figure who strengthened the BJP’s base in Jammu and expanded its presence across constituencies in Kashmir.
Chugh called for continued organisational efforts, saying significant work remained despite the progress achieved so far.
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh and other senior BJP leaders attended the programme, which followed a party meeting on organisational matters and issues related to public service in Jammu and Kashmir.
