BUDGAM: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Budgam, in collaboration with Government Higher Secondary School, Attina Beerwah, Budgam, organised a Legal Awareness Programme under the NALSA JAGRITI Scheme to sensitise students and participants about their legal rights, access to justice, and the role and functioning of Legal Services Authorities.
Lateef Ahmad Khan, Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADC), Budgam, delivered a detailed address on the importance of legal aid and the role of Legal Services Authorities in ensuring access to justice for all, particularly for those in need of legal assistance.
Nisar Ahmad Mir, PLV, DLSA Budgam, provided an overview of the working and functioning of DLSA Budgam. He also explained various Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms, including mediation and other methods of amicable dispute resolution, highlighting their role in reducing the burden on courts and facilitating speedy and effective justice.
Zahoor Ahmad Dar, Lecturer EVS, and Tanveer Ahmad Malik, CRC, also addressed the gathering and emphasised the importance of legal awareness among students and the community.
The programme was attended by students and faculty members of Government High School, GondiPora, and Middle School, Attina Beerwah, who actively participated in the awareness programme.
The programme aimed to promote greater awareness among students and the public regarding free legal services, access to justice, ADR mechanisms, and the role of Legal Services Authorities, in furtherance of the objectives of NALSA.
