BHADERWAH: The 23rd Prantiya Sanskriti Mahotsav, organised by Bharatiya Shiksha Samiti, Jammu-Kashmir & Ladakh, is being held from September 17 to 19 at Bharatiya Vidya Mandir, Bhaderwah, bringing together students from different parts of Jammu & Kashmir to celebrate the region’s rich cultural heritage, traditions and values.
The three-day provincial festival features participation of students from various schools representing seven Sankuls (clusters). The event provides a vibrant platform for young learners to showcase their talent while developing creativity, ethical values, cultural awareness and a sense of national pride.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bhaderwah Sunil Kumar Bhutyal graced the event as the Chief Guest. His presence encouraged and motivated the participating students, teachers and educators.
Addressing the gathering, the ADC emphasised the importance of preserving the rich culture, traditions and heritage of the region. He observed that a community that loses touch with its cultural roots risks weakening its own identity.
He stressed the need to promote local traditions and ensure their continuity for future generations. He said cultural programmes play an important role in helping young people understand their roots, appreciate traditional heritage and provide them with opportunities to showcase their creativity and talent.
The ADC further emphasised that such events should be organised regularly to provide greater recognition and encouragement to local folk art, customs, traditions and cultural practices. He highlighted the significant role of students and educational institutions in carrying forward the region’s cultural legacy from one generation to the next.
Appreciating the efforts of Bharatiya Shiksha Samiti, teachers and participating students, the ADC lauded the organisers for providing a meaningful platform for cultural and educational exchange. He encouraged all participants to continue contributing towards the preservation, promotion and transmission of the region’s rich cultural heritage.
The Mahotsav continues to feature a range of cultural and educational activities, providing students an opportunity to learn, perform and connect with the diverse cultural traditions of Jammu & Kashmir.
