JAMMU: Renowned cardiologist Dr Nikhil Mahajan was honoured with the “Doctor of the Year Award” at the General Zorawar Singh Award Ceremony 2026, held at Lemon Tree Hotel, Jammu.
The ceremony was organised by the General Zorawar Singh Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust to recognise individuals for notable contributions in different fields while commemorating the legacy of General Zorawar Singh.
The event was attended by several prominent personalities, including Member of Parliament Jugal Kishore Sharma, Jammu East MLA Yudhvir Sethi, former MP Lal Singh, DIG Jammu, and members of the fifth generation of General Zorawar Singh’s family.
Fitness enthusiast Sidharth Gupta, along with other personalities from public life, administration, healthcare and social sectors, was also present.
Dr Mahajan was recognised in the Doctor of the Year category for his contribution to healthcare and continued commitment to quality cardiac care.
The organisers said the honour acknowledged his professional dedication, service to patients and contribution to the medical fraternity in Jammu and Kashmir.
The General Zorawar Singh Awards featured several categories, including Doctor of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Fit Icon of the Year, Sports Icon of the Year and Pride Influencer Award.
The ceremony also paid tribute to the legacy of General Zorawar Singh while recognising contemporary achievers for their contributions to society.
Expressing gratitude on receiving the honour, Dr Mahajan thanked the General Zorawar Singh Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust and the distinguished guests for the recognition.
He said such honours further strengthen his resolve to serve patients and contribute towards the advancement of cardiac healthcare in Jammu and Kashmir.
