REASI: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today convened a meeting with officers and representatives from religious organizations to finalize arrangements for the smooth and peaceful observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADC Rakesh Kumar, XEN Jal Shakti, ARTO, DySP Headquarters and other concerned officers, besides representatives of Masjid Management Committees of Reasi and Katra.
The Deputy Commissioner held a review of arrangements pertaining to sanitation, drinking water, power supply, security, traffic management, market regulation and the availability of essential commodities.
He directed the Police Department to put in place adequate security arrangements and ensure effective traffic management, particularly at important locations and along routes witnessing religious gatherings.
The Jal Shakti Department was directed to ensure adequate availability and uninterrupted supply of drinking water at all designated locations. The Health Department was asked to put in place necessary medical arrangements including deployment of medical teams, availability of essential medicines and provision of emergency services during the celebrations.
EO Municipal Councils Reasi and Katra were directed to ensure proper sanitation, cleanliness and waste management in the towns, particularly around markets, mosques and other congregation points. The concerned officers were also directed to conduct regular market inspections and ensure the availability of essential commodities at fair and reasonable prices.
He further directed the SDMs and Tehsildars to convene similar meetings in their respective jurisdictions and ensure that all necessary arrangements are put in place for the smooth, peaceful and hassle-free observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
