REASI: District Development Commissioner Reasi Kumar Abhishek today chaired a meeting to review the physical and financial progress of works being executed under Samagra Shiksha and UT Capex in the School Education sector.
The DDC took a detailed review of the status of ongoing and pending works and directed the concerned officers to ensure that all works are completed within the stipulated timelines. He directed the CEO to furnish a detailed list of works that have already been shifted, along with the action taken in each case.
Emphasising the need for better utilisation of available space, he directed the officers to explore the feasibility of constructing vertical structures in schools, wherever appropriate, keeping in view the availability of land and future requirements.
He further directed that demarcation of school land be carried out in a systematic manner and instructed the concerned officers to prepare a list of schools where the land records/registration in favour of the school are yet to be completed. He called for coordinated efforts to resolve such issues at the earliest so that school land remains properly identified and secured.
The meeting also reviewed issues related to land, costs, tendering, allotment, non-started works, contractor-related matters and other bottlenecks. He directed all stakeholders to maintain regular coordination and ensure that no work remains pending without a valid reason. He reiterated that timely completion, proper utilisation of resources and effective monitoring of educational infrastructure works should remain the priority of all concerned departments.
The meeting was attended by CPO Narinder Kumar, SE PWD (R&B), CEO, XENs of PWD (R&B), ZEOs and other concerned officers.
