KATRA: Pilgrims planning to avail helicopter services for the Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrimage will have to pay more from November 1, with fares on the Katra-Sanjichhat route set to increase.
The one-way helicopter fare between Katra and Sanjichhat will rise from the existing ₹2,320 to ₹2,700 per passenger, while the round-trip fare will increase from ₹4,640 to ₹5,400.
The existing fare of ₹2,320, inclusive of five per cent GST, has been applicable since October 16, 2025. The current tariff includes the basic fare, royalty payable to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, helipad development and maintenance charges, landing charges and GST.
The helicopter service connects Katra with Sanjichhat and is widely used by pilgrims seeking a quicker journey towards the holy shrine.
The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board advises pilgrims to make bookings only through its authorised online platforms and has cautioned devotees against using unauthorised private agents for its services.
The fare revision is expected to particularly impact pilgrims opting for helicopter travel during the peak pilgrimage periods.
