MUMBAI: Reliance Foundation has opened applications for its flagship Scholarships 2026–27 programme, under which 5,100 first-year undergraduate and postgraduate students across India will be selected for financial assistance and development support.
The programme will award 5,000 Undergraduate Scholarships and 100 Postgraduate Scholarships for the academic year 2026–27. Applications are open to first-year students enrolled in full-time degree programmes across India.
Selected undergraduate students will receive scholarships of up to Rs 2 lakh, while postgraduate students can receive up to Rs 6 lakh over the duration of their programme. There is no application fee at any stage.
Reliance Foundation said the scholarships combine financial support with mentorship, leadership development, networking opportunities, interactions with industry experts and access to a wider scholar community.
The Undergraduate Scholarships support meritorious students through a merit-cum-means selection process, helping students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds pursue higher education.
The Postgraduate Scholarships are meant for 100 high-performing students pursuing future-ready disciplines, including engineering, technology, energy and life sciences. Selection is based on academic excellence, aptitude and other prescribed parameters.
For undergraduate applicants, the selection process includes an aptitude assessment and evaluation of financial background, while postgraduate applicants will be assessed on academic merit, aptitude and other selection criteria.
Reliance Foundation said it has supported more than 33,000 students across India through scholarships so far. Last year, 5,100 scholars were selected from 1,350 institutions across 27 states and seven Union Territories.
The Foundation said that in December 2022, on the 90th birth anniversary of Reliance Founder-Chairman Dhirubhai Ambani, Founder and Chairperson Nita M. Ambani announced an additional commitment of 50,000 scholarships over 10 years, making it one of the country’s largest private scholarship initiatives.
