POONCH: A woman went missing in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district after taking eight goats out for grazing near the Line of Control (LoC), with officials suspecting that she may have crossed into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Rubina Kousar, a resident of Karni village near the LoC, reportedly took the goats for grazing on Friday but failed to return home by evening, officials said on Saturday.
Preliminary information suggests that she may have crossed the LoC into PoK along with the livestock. However, it remains unclear whether she crossed inadvertently while grazing the goats or did so deliberately, officials added.
Officials noted that several families living along the LoC have relatives across the divide in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, making it difficult to immediately establish the circumstances surrounding her suspected crossing.
Further details are awaited.
