UDHAMPUR: Live streaming of release of 20th installment of PM Kisan Saman Nidhi Scheme by Prime Minister Narendera Modi was organised by Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department Udhampur here today. DDC Chairman Lal Chand was the chief guest at the programme attended by Additional District Development Commissioner Rajinder Singh, Agriculture Department functionaries, Ex Sarpanches and farmers of adjoining villages attended the event.
Chief Agriculture Officer Harbans Singh, in his welcome address, said that 54527 farmers of Udhampur District will be benefited with the transfer of Rs 10.90 cr through DBT in their account for purchase of various Agriculture inputs.
Chairman District Development Council Lal Chand said that 9.70 crore farmers of the country will be benefited with the transfer of more than Rs 20500 crore directly in their accounts and stressed for covering all the eligible beneficiaries. He said the PM Kisan scheme has greatly benefited the farmers across the country and the latest installment will further boost the income and contribute to the growth of the agriculture sector. About 100 farmers attended the programme.
Similar events were also held at the block headquarters which were attended by DDC members, Ex BDC Chairman and Ex PRI members and farmers.
The vote of thanks was presented by District Agriculture Officer (Ext) Udhampur, Sudhir Manhas.
