JAMMU: KC Public School marked the beginning of its Founder’s Week celebrations with the Meraki Marathon 3.0 — an event that went beyond a race, symbolizing the enduring legacy of its Founder Chairman, Sudarshan Mahajan, who envisioned empowering the youth of Jammu and Kashmir through education, sports, and holistic growth.
The marathon was held on October 12, starting from the school campus. Principal Amarendra Kumar Mishra flagged off the event, while Chief Guest Shri Kameshwar Puri, Superintendent of Police (SOG), lauded the initiative and motivated students to actively participate in community welfare. He also enlightened the gathering on cyber security awareness.
Adding inspiration and enthusiasm to the event were the Guests of Honour — Chandeep Singh Sudan, national gold medalist para-athlete, and RJ Rohit from Radio Mirchi. The Vice Principal, Sanjay Pandey, and Headmistress, Sophia Rana, were also present to cheer for the participants.
The marathon witnessed spirited participation from students across multiple categories.
🏅 10 km category: Nitish, Prakash, and Vishal secured the first, second, and third positions respectively.
🏃♂️ 5 km category: Samar Chaudhary, Kartik Kumar, and Shivam Sharma emerged as the top three finishers.
🏃♀️ 3 km category: Vishav Singh Bhau, Jogesh Majodhra, and Jatin Kumar bagged the top honors.
🌸 Women’s category: Vidhi and Harshita Jalali shared the first position, displaying exceptional determination and perseverance.
The event was meticulously organized under the guidance of PGTs Jaya Chowdhary and Rahul Thakur, with Lakshay Rehan and Samrat Singh leading the Organising Committee, ensuring smooth coordination and execution.
The marathon carried a charitable purpose, aimed at spreading happiness among underprivileged children and making this Diwali a true “Khushiyon Ki Diwali.” All proceeds from the event will go toward community service initiatives.
Reflecting the school’s commitment to service and global citizenship, KC Public School continues to encourage students to engage in Round Square service projects in India and abroad, fostering compassion, leadership, and social responsibility.
