JAMMU: K C Public School, Jammu, has retained its No. 1 position in Jammu and Kashmir and secured the 12th rank nationally in the EducationWorld India School Rankings (EWISR) 2026 under the Co-ed Day-cum-Boarding Schools category.
The achievement marks the school’s seventh consecutive year at the top in Jammu and Kashmir, continuing its winning streak since 2020 and reaffirming its commitment to educational excellence.

The national recognition reflects the school’s efforts to provide balanced, progressive and student-centred education, combining academic excellence with co-curricular activities, sports, community service, individual attention and the holistic development of learners.
The EducationWorld India School Rankings Survey evaluates schools across three major categories — Day, Boarding and International — and 29 sub-categories. Schools are assessed on parameters including academic reputation, faculty competence, leadership and management, curriculum, teaching practices, sports, co-curricular education, student well-being, parental involvement, teacher development and infrastructure.
For the 2026–27 survey, EducationWorld entrusted the task of assessing informed public opinion to Bengaluru-based AZ Research Partners Pvt. Ltd. The agency compiled a national database of 18,000 respondents, including 10,235 parents of school-going children and 7,642 principals, teachers and education counsellors, as stated in the school’s press release.
The survey employed structured questionnaires, with provisions for online, telephonic and face-to-face responses. Measures were also adopted to prevent multiple submissions from individual respondents and reject responses suspected of attempting to influence rankings.
EducationWorld has additionally introduced the Global Young Scholar (GYS) Test in partnership with US-based Access USA. The initiative assesses students’ reasoning, skills and insights, adding a student-focused dimension to the broader evaluation of educational excellence.
