JAMMU: Jodhamal Public School, Channi Himmat, Jammu, has once again brought laurels to the institution with an outstanding performance at the prestigious STEAM Innovation Challenge 2026, organised by IIT Jammu under Team Pragyaan.
In a proud moment for the Jodhamal Public School fraternity, Amay Gupta secured the Second Prize in the highly competitive innovation challenge, earning a cash award of ₹12,000, which has been credited to the school.
Amay’s innovative project stood out among numerous entries for its originality, practical relevance and strong conceptual clarity. His achievement reflects not only his creativity and scientific temperament but also the school’s sustained focus on research-based learning and innovation.
In addition, a team from the Junior Group of the school also represented Jodhamal Public School at the IIT STEAM Innovation Challenge. The team comprised Rivan Gupta, Natik Kajoria, Prayang Arora, Krishan Gupta, Abhir Singh Bali and Gauransh Diwan. Their enthusiastic participation, innovative thinking and teamwork highlighted the strong STEM foundation being nurtured at the junior level.
The STEAM Innovation Challenge 2026 was aimed at encouraging young minds to apply principles of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) to develop innovative solutions for real-world challenges, with a special focus on issues relevant to Jammu & Kashmir. The competition was organised across four thematic tracks: Sustainability (Eco-Conscious Innovation), Healthcare (Holistic HealthTech), Smart Living (Urban & Rural Future) and Education (Next-Gen EdTech).
The two-day on-campus event at IIT Jammu witnessed enthusiastic participation from schools across the region. Shortlisted teams were required to present their ideas through working prototypes, detailed models and comprehensive presentations.
The school management extended heartfelt congratulations to Amay Gupta for his outstanding achievement and also acknowledged the dedicated mentorship of Neetu Johri, whose guidance played a vital role in shaping the project.
This achievement marks yet another milestone in Jodhamal Public School’s journey of excellence in academics, innovation and co-curricular pursuits. The entire JMPS community celebrated the success and wished the young innovators continued achievements in the future.
