JAMMU: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), under the directions of Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, and with the direct supervision of Joint Commissioner (R&E) Subah Mehta and Deputy Commissioner (South) JMC Lal Chand, conducted a major demolition drive today against illegal building structures constructed without the requisite permissions.
The action reinforces JMC’s commitment to planned and lawful urban development in the city.
During the operation, two unauthorized building structures at Upper Jallo Chak, Greater Kailash, Ward No. 68 were demolished. These constructions violated prescribed building bylaws and regulations. In a separate enforcement action, another illegal structure in the Bantalab area of Jammu was also removed.
The Jammu Municipal Corporation urged citizens to adhere strictly to legal construction procedures within city limits. Residents are reminded to obtain proper building permissions from JMC before initiating any construction activity.
Joint Commissioner (R&E) Subah Mehta stated,
“The Jammu Municipal Corporation is committed to maintaining the planned integrity of Jammu city and will continue to take strict action against unauthorized constructions. We request the cooperation of all residents in following the legal procedures that ensure safe, sustainable, and organized urban growth for the collective benefit of society.”
The Corporation emphasized that such enforcement drives will continue across Jammu to curb illegal constructions and encroachments. The demolition operations were carried out in the presence of the Enforcement Officer, Enforcement Inspectors, and other field staff of the JMC Enforcement Wing.
