JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Police have cautioned job seekers against cyber fraudsters allegedly using fake recruitment processes, suspicious verification requests and identity-collection tactics to target candidates.
Police said scammers may create seemingly genuine hiring procedures and then ask applicants to complete unusual verification formalities or share sensitive personal information under the pretext of recruitment.
Job seekers have been advised to carefully verify the credentials of recruiters and companies before sharing any personal or confidential information.
Police also urged candidates to remain cautious about unusual verification requests during the hiring process and to independently check the legitimacy of job offers.
Candidates have been advised to verify official company websites, email domains and the actual presence of the recruiting organisation before responding to recruitment messages or offers.
Police further cautioned job seekers against instant selection offers and messages that create pressure or urgency to provide information or complete verification procedures.
According to the advisory, genuine job opportunities should not pressure candidates into sharing sensitive information without proper verification.
J&K Police urged job seekers to remain vigilant and exercise caution while responding to online recruitment offers, particularly those received through unverified channels.
