JAMMU: A video recorded inside the sacred premises of Mata Vaishno Devi cave has gone viral on social media, triggering serious concerns over security arrangements at one of India’s most revered pilgrimage sites.
The footage, allegedly recorded by a social media content creator, shows visuals from inside the cave where photography and videography are strictly prohibited. The clip quickly spread across social media platforms, drawing criticism and raising questions about how recording equipment was taken into the restricted area.
Taking strong note of the incident, the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board issued an official statement confirming legal action. The Board stated:
“Taking cognizance, necessary legal action initiated. Formal complaint filed with the Police on 11.02.2026. Further action is underway as per law.”
Officials told Jammu Links News, a case has been registered against the individual responsible for recording and uploading the video. Authorities are investigating the matter to determine how security protocols were bypassed.
The Shrine Board reiterated that recording inside the sanctum is strictly banned to maintain the sanctity of the shrine and ensure safety of the pilgrims. Devotees and social media users have also demanded stricter enforcement of rules to prevent such incidents in the future.
Further legal proceedings are currently underway.
